I'm sorry but who didn't see this coming? I'm definitely not a fan of Meta or any of its spawn but frankly, they're commercial operations. They're not the ones usually posting news content, it's their users. I suspect that most of the views of news organizations are driven from sites like Facebook. Let's see how that works out.

@Cdn_Skeptic_Wm only bad things will come of the increased paywalling of legitimate information. this law was a bad move on Canada's part. newspapers used to sit on racks by the door in grocery stores, nobody charged me to sit down and skim it while I waited for my husband to do the shopping. if they could function on those margins, they can function being linked on social media.
