Reading a site I respect, trying not to get too annoyed by yet another "Trump says a dumb thing and Twitter dunks on him" post. These posts are the most pointless waste of time and resources. Yeah, you copied and pasted a lot of wanna-be late night writers (some of whom are legitimately funny) dunking on the worst president in history. Great. Neat.
Maybe take that time and effort and the space you used to print it and post about something that will actually make a difference in the world.
@th3j35t3r I know u r busy. just a note to say thanks for what you do😎 👌
So I’ve actively tried to avoid politics here. Mostly because this is Js house and I respect that. Today I made a simple comment. Hours of political debate later, I’ve learned that I’m definitely in the minority here. And that’s fine. It was a mostly respectful debate.
What’s important is that debating Trump, or political differences in general, doesn’t have to be terrible and traumatic. The division we currently have doesn’t have to be so sharp and hurtful.
That is all.
Mentioned on Twitter that Nazis are terrible, spent three hours blocking people who defended Nazis, played "what about?", Sealioned, or treated the threat posed by Nazis as a fun thought experiment because they've never been threatened by Nazis. Twitter enables people like that, and the world is a demonstrably worse place because of it. So I'm glad to have this new social network to spend time on.
