When a politician says they are speaking for the “silent majority” ask how they know?

Did someone speak to them from said group?

Or did they read minds?

The use of this phrase is irksome. When the “silent majority” speak, they are, by definition, not silent.

I would like this phrase to die a loud, painful death, death.

@feloneouscat
It's as nonsensical as tv hosts saying;
"Welcome Back!"
after their commercial break!

My retort:
"I didn't go anywhere! You did!"

@Priestess @feloneouscat That's something I loved about Johnny Carson. He would always come out of the commercial break with, "ok we're back."
