If the Democrats win, it is imperative that they strengthen the separation of church and state or we are just going to keep seeing this show every four years.

If they win, they need to fortify a lot of things. Let's hope they win down the ballot. She needs congress to back her up, before the US experiment is just a memory.

Back in the 2022 "red wave" election the Republicans dumped dozens of Republican-favorable polls into the public pool in the final weeks of the election. They're doing it again this time. Why? Because they're losing. It's voter suppression.

So don't lose heart and definitely don't trust the lying public poll numbers.

@CinnamonGirlE @MidnightRider On the point of blaming religion though, I think the situation is a bit more complex. Whenever religion, and by this I specifically mean Christianity, becomes dominant in a society to the point of influencing government affairs, it becomes corrupt. Or rather, corrupt people who want power abuse it. That's what we're seeing again.
Separation of church and state is important but a better solution is for authentic christianity to root out the corruption.
@danielbsmith Imagine how all the Christians would feel Daniel if Islam became the primary religion of this country and they asked one of you to use a prayer mat. I’m guessing you wouldn’t like that. Well now you know how the rest of us don’t you? I like you, Daniel and I respect your right to believe as you wish but the rest of your organization does not reciprocate with that notion. You can’t say religion isn’t taking over when they want to put the commandments in public school

@MidnightRider agreed. Good humans are rare. I myself have spent a lot of my younger days as a scoundrel, looking for that right one to set me straight. Now that I’m old I have found that all I can do is try to be a good one. It’s a daily challenge. Have a great day! Shine on!

Organized religion is bullshit, I’m 65 and for that entire timeframe on this earth religion has been used to enslave people. The exact opposite of why Jesus said he died for people to have free will. Human beings suck and religion is just another construct to make an oxen yoke out of.
