The week before I moved to NJ, I took 3 hr drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Every curve and increase in elevation provided early fall images I will never forget.

@LnzyHou People are still thinking that these climate-change-related events are happening somewhere else ...until it happens to them...and to us. It's not "normal" for a Cat 4 hurricane to hit western North Carolina. We must must must attend to the climate crisis or there will be more events like Helene and what's happened to western North Carolina. I've traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway, also so this is personal for me, too.
Catastrophic flooding has been occurring all over the world. Appalachia is merely another in a long list of epic floods, fires, and other extreme weather-driven events.
It's never going to get better, folks. In fact, it's just starting. Hang on to your hats - literally.
