It would be remiss to say that inflation didn't cause any of the increases. I'd read a study, I believe a year or two ago, that showed that ~50% of the inflation was due to corporate greed, when it's usually much lower (less than 20%, iirc).
Although it was sorely needed, pumping money into the economy during the pandemic didn't help, neither did the supply chain issues. But it likely wouldn't have gotten to 9% if corporations were reined in.
