Um, it'd take ages to get to the Supreme Court, and if some district "refuses to certify" β something they are LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO DO, it's NOT negotiable β the Department of Justice will drag them into the nearest district court so fast their heads will swim, and they'll get a court order FORCING them either come up with some EVIDENCE or to do the jobs they SWORE AN OATH to do.
If this is their plan, I have to assume they're dumber than freaking CLAMS are.
@mcfate
I direct you to the period between november 8 2020 and jan 20 2021. SCOTUS heard a trump election fraud case in feb of 21. Also the bush/gore election, which was decided by the SCOTUS only 6 weeks after the election. You think THIS supreme court wont rule in favor of trump regardless of how ridiculous the case is? Also- MAGA clearly is not concerned with the DOJ or the will of the people. They aren't playing by the rules.
Well, you can believe what you want (and be as condescending as you must), but this isn't going to work.
You're not positing any issue about the vote itself, just a refusal to do their jobs. Which they're legally bound to by state law.
So, the state courts, the Federal courts, the entire state legislature and the governor would have to go along with this.
You give these people too much credit. Look at their Arizona "audit".
@mcfate
Just because i remind you of past history, thats not condescension. (You have GOT to start giving people some slack, buddy - youβre the most condescending person I know on here that I havenβt blocked yet). This is their plan. Who steps in as president while this is all being fought out in court after jan 20? Sorry if you think iβm being over the top but this is very much the plan to take control of the government.
Not a plan, so to speak, but I did create a guide for direct action. r/HayforksandFirebrands
I kinda wonder where these rogue Election Boards plan to HIDE after they've pulled off this stunt.
They'll sure NEED to.
There are two sorts of situations in the world: the ones you can have an effect on, and the ones you can't.
I don't see how this implausible scheme is anything I, or anyone outside the DoJ and courts, could DO anything about, if they're unwise enough to actually attempt it.
If they do, the courts and DoJ will deal with it, one way or the highly unlikely other.
What would lead me to think differently?
Not to mention that they've actually ATTEMPTED this silly trick before and gotten swatted down promptly EVERY SINGLE TIME.
@mcfate @MPCavalier
Surround the court with angry citizens carrying pink hammers, rather than wearing cute pink bonnets like 2017.
Then start swinging.
@danalan @MPCavalier
Give me a prΓ©cis of how you'll stop the Supreme Court from barring the Justice Department from suing several election boards for trying to swing an election via incredibly transparent and dubious means.
I don't Reddit.
