I got reported to HR this week for posting something on a work Slack channel, saying it would please your "cotton-picking heart."
I am not complaining. Obviously, it offended someone. How did I get to be 65 and not realize that was racist?
Anyway, lesson learned.
@jcsimonds It speaks well of you that you aren’t complaining and are open to criticism. I’m 56 and I slip on occasion with the pronoun thing. I absolutely want to respect people’s pronouns, but old habits die hard. Fortunately, I haven’t done anything too embarrassing.
