My simple solution to gun violence:
Require gun insurance. Eliminate all restrictions, except for the requirement to have your guns fully insured.
The government's only involvement is enforcing insurance. Not insured? Gun destroyed, prison time.
Great credit, citizen, secure gun storage? Insurance reasonable & worthwhile.
Bad credit, felonies, many guns laying around? Expensive insurance.
Want a grenade launcher? Ma deuce? Tank? If you can afford insurance, sure.
@danalan I'd say regulate firearms like motor vehicles. Training, licensing, insurance. Revoking of license for improper use, and stiffer penalties for operating without a license or insurance. The type of firearm you can use is determined by what you can afford and what training and licensing you've done.
