Hibiscus bloomed yesterday!
So excited to have received a couple from my girls remembrance. Totally intimidated about keeping them alive. If anyone has experience with them in the northern states please share your advice. Do I plant in the ground or leave containered? They are perennials type but don't list as hardy on the label. Watering twice a day in this heatwave.

@damselfly59 My experience is only in the south. You might have to move it inside for the winter.

@damselfly59 , hard to tell. There are several plants in my neighborhood in Central MI. I think they wrap them in burlap for the winter.

@misslovelymess
Detailed not derailed😂
Sorry bout your gall bladder💧 my dad was given synthetic polar bear bile and it cleaned out the sludge that made the stones? May nit be a mainstream thing but friend of fam is an internal med dr who thinks outside the box.
Hugs💜

@damselfly59 if they are hardy hibiscus, they should be ok up to zone 5. however they also do ok as potted plants that move inside for winter. the Spruce has a pretty decent care guide: thespruce.com/hardy-hibiscus-p

@damselfly59 If the name of the variety is on the tag, you might be able to find out online whether it's tropical or hardy. If it's tropical, you'll have to bring it in when it gets cold if you're not in zone 9-12.

@damselfly59 I found this! Apparently the big red hardy hibiscus grows in zones 4-9, so maybe you can put it in the ground?

@Lindy
Thanks! I am still on the fence. I might try getting some cuttings before planting just to be sure.
I don't think I stressed this hard over having actual human babies😂

@damselfly59 I have a suggestion. You can ask a florist what it is. Show them the photo. If that's not an option, try a plant nursery. Come to think of it, a nursery might be your best bet for that particular plant.
