Huh... I knew egg prices were supposed to be up, but... did not expect to see them up by almost 200%...
I only buy eggs when I bake...
Kind of hinky that they cost so much with no "cause." Expecting this to get worse when things deregulate...
@sentientdessert where do you live? Eggs are up where I am because of Avian flu but they still only cost 3.68 for a dozen at Kroger.
@cylon_dxd @sentientdessert Avian flu is one factor. On top of that here in Oregon (and NV, I just saw) and some other regions is the cage free mandate. Better policy for both health and non-cruelty reasons but it does come with a price tag.
@Fellixe @sentientdessert some things are more, some less, i still spend the same total per month on groceries I did 10 years ago except for during covid.
@cylon_dxd The cheap ones, the kroger brand, the ones I got today, were 4.59... normally 1.89 or so.
