Every year.
We do what we can and try to have a plan.
This year we cleared about an acre of brush and bought a portable pump that can draw from the lake. We still need to set it up, don’t want to looking at an instruction manual while something is ablaze.
And today while I take my mom in to dr. and waiting I’ll make an evac list.

This year I cleared about twice as much land from brush and small trees, around the houses here. We only have a well, so pulling enough water will never help much. Three of the folks here have some forest fire fighting experience, so we all know the drill.
We all have go bags, back-ups, and emergency supplies.
We're ready, but I spend a good part of the day, watching for smoke.
And it gets crazy making.
