Seventeen has been downloading shit from BitTorrent, (I know) and now Comcast is sending me DMCA notices stating that they can terminate my service if it doesn't stop.

I'm about as pissed off at him as I am at them. Monitoring every download seems like a serious invasion of privacy.

Hey listen... I went through this a few years ago. MAKE SURE those DMCA notices are actually coming from a LEGITIMATE source.

I'm IT Manager for a large newspaper chain in the Chicago area. We got a bunch of these from a "law firm" in California ordering us to take down a dozen images, and demanding payment in the tens of thousands of dollars for images protected by copyright.

There are a lot of shitbirds out there. Comcast may be wrong here.
