Afghanistan is already a narco superpower. Afghanistan has accounted for about 84 percent of global opium production over the past five years. Despite a cultivation decline in 2018 due to low prices and drought, the country’s opium production has increased rapidly and consistently since 2001 and has remained stable at high levels in 2019 and into 2020.

Automating Society Report 2020
A great report (free download) on automated decision-making (ADM) systems in society. Lots of important research presented “through journalistic stories, then, through research-based sections cataloging different examples, and, finally, with graphic novels.”
While ADM systems already affect all sorts of activities and judgments, they are still mainly deployed without any meaningful debate.
