Morning Forest Walk About

I am a bit depressed this morning, not sleeping well. I have to talk myself into dressing for the wet and getting out of the house. I decide to walk down to the river, instead of up the old logging road to the ridge.

The river, (north fork of the Santiam river), won't fix me. nothing to fix. But sitting on the bank, listening to its rush. Allows more space in my head for melancholy to float, and not be so tight.

To Notice:

Equanimity is not feeling numb.
Knowing that your mind is the sky and your emotions are just the weather.

Your feelings are real. But just transient phenomena. They like the weather, change, and are not permeant.

Equanimity is the mental practice of dressing for inclement weather.

No need to stop the rain.

Nature always helps me. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Glad you got to listen to the water.

@corlin

Thank you for sharing the mood you're moving through.

It's not just by the river now; it floats along a deeper human current, too.

May its passage through you be gentle.

May you be gentle with yourself, as it's passing through.

Just looking at this photo brings down the blood pressure and a big ole Ahhhhhh 💜

@corlin I've been trying to convince myself a walk would do me good. This is inspiring.

@corlin What an amazing place to get a head change, even if it is just more space in it :)

@corlin Sorry that you're into it a bit today. For myself- rain, running water, and space work wonders.
