rereading an old favorite'
The Doors of His Face, The Lamps of His Mouth
Roger Zelazny
Here is a collection of strange, beautiful stories covering the full spectrum of the late Roger Zelazny's remarkable talents. He had a rare ability to mix the dream-like, disturbing imagery of fantasy with the real-life hardware of science fiction. His vivid imagination and fine prose made him one of the most highly acclaimed writers in his field.

I don't know.
Zelazny was an odd bird.
I do like his shorter work better, he got too long in the word in his novels.
@corlin
I want to reread "Creatures of Light and Darkness" some time and see whether I appreciate it any better.
"Lord of Light" is one of my all-time favorites, from when I was in high school. There might be some karma involved there.
