"Well, I am here to write that being present and simultaneously reflecting is exhausting. I have lived a decade in the year that was 2023. I now believe forgetting is as important as remembering if one is to move forward. I don’t mean forgetting in the sense of pretending that something never happened; I mean flushing out the experiences so one can move forward and not feel trapped inside Time."

@jackdetate

Thanks.
This is a very good piece.
As a longtime friend of horrific grief. And every possible manifestation it could dream up. This exactly matches my experience. Grief exists in "echthesia", both timeless, and in the moment. This is so very confusing to those new to great grief. Yet this sneaky timelessness can also help us to cope. No. One never heals from outliving your own child. But one can move from the pit of the past, into the present moment.

@corlin @jackdetate

Surely the deepest wound in the human experience.

So several friends have told me.

I’m sorry for yours 💔
