Have you noticed that links do NOT count in the 500 character limit for a post. So no need to use a URL shortener, In fact we encourage you NOT to use them, for security reasons. If you're posting an outbound link, please use the full URL.
Now we do "Sanitize" the outbound links here to remove all tracking information. If your link has no tracking info, but has a "?" in the middle, you can override the Sanitizer, by adding "/nosanitize" anywhere in the post.
(YouTube is exempt)
Ok...I did not know that.
Just add /nosanitize anywhere in the post...
Or
Pull the article from behind the pay wall by using...
or
er.. ummm... i just put /nosanitize like a hash tag
OR
you give me WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT- 🤣
do i just add
archive.ph or 12ft.io
to the end of my URL?
Neither...
just add the "/nosanitize" not as a hashtag.
But as a word anywhere in the post like this...
/nosanitize
The other links are for web pages you can go to to pull the site from behind the paywall.
You have to visit them an copy and paste the URL into their site's... and the will give you a NEW URL to post here.
got it.
i did get the /nosanitize wasn't a hashtag- but my words weren't working very well.
the other option is NEW to me, but is very cool, and i'll use it.
i have to say that the specialized type makes reading for directions very easy. i can literally SCAN and the "actions" leap out.
thanks for taking the time- really appreciate the new information.
You're very welcome!
❤️
Enjoy

I think on the Washington Post & NYT "gift articles" you have to use their "gift coded URL" which is shortened.
