This Barnacle-Inspired Glue Seals Bleeding Organs in Seconds.

The paste sticks onto wet tissue firmly by repelling blood. Surgeons hope it can save time, and lives.

"Then compared the barnacle glue to products used by surgeons, sealant pastes like Surgiflo and a coagulation patch called TachoSil. In comparison, the barnacle glue formed a bond that was eight times tougher."

I love clotting aides.

My one concern with this, are people that are allergic to shellfish. That could take it out of field use and remand it to controlled settings.

Unless you can identify if you're allergic to shellfish or not, you could end up accidentally causing full on anaphylaxis.

Good point.
I have not read the paper.
So I don’t know for sure, but my guess is that this compound is “derived” form barnacles. As in purified, and contains only the “glue”, and therefore not cause a reaction to allergies.
We’ll see

@corlin

I didn't see anything skimming it.(not to say it isn't there.)

I remember when Israel was heavy into starch and potato powder development. The strides were amazing.

I had the opportunity to use one of the first clotting packs stateside after they were approved.

Worked amazingly with a gunshot victim. I ended up with a small crowd around me all mesmerized and shit.

Keep the innovations coming!
