Not only am I mostly unaware of my own cognitive biases, I know that they exist.
Without other rational voices, to point them out, I would be walking down a dangerous path.
Not just the lessons from history, but the deep awareness of what is really going on now, can stop me from my own mistakes. This most often comes from others, and not my "best" thinking.
