For some reason... lately I have been drawn into the stories, and traditions of First Peoples, all around the globe. These simple teachings are a balm against the violence of the news.
They are not always nice story trails, nor easy to hear, but always weave truth with humor into the world.

@corlin i love Joy Harjo, as well!
So true... that’s definitely a difference in culture and one of the things that often brings out my ‘fairy self’. Having grown up with many different stories - most of them not of the Disney variety, I think mythology plays an important role in our lives. Not everything is sweetness and light but there’s a meaning that many people can take away good things from. It’s an interesting tool, actually.

@corlin my sister has this book - loves it. I have another one by the same author on fungi. Thanks for sharing she’s a scientist and Native American and offers a wonderful perspective.
