Good News. I just got back from a trip up to my place. All is as well as expected. No Power. No communication , except for 2 sat-phones.
Fire got about 12 miles north. Then winds changed. Wind is now at dead stop, moving to come lightly from the west tonight.

Nobody on Ore. 20, east bound. No one at junction of 20 & 22 to stop me. Even with 22 totally closed. Drove without incident.

All My neighbors are safe and sound. All needs being meet.
Delivered a second generator and several big cans of gas. Also 2nd sat-phone.

Generators now running well pump and 2 large community freezers. Neither have to run full time. Everyone is well stocked up for about 2 weeks. The kids are out supplying food and water for all the creatures fleeing fire.

Neighbors insisted I go back and stay in town, as I have another 6 day work week ahead.

More later:

Oh.
My cats are not happy. I left a window open so they could come and go. I don't think they left the house. The kids came by twice a day to feed and play with them. But they would have none of that. They were glad to see me. But still pissed off. I will be gone another 6 days.

So I expect blood letting when I get back.

@Botanic
Yep.
Not near the fire. About halfway between Idanha, and the Santiam Junction.

Oh. Yes they were already to leave on Monday. But we have been through this before, 3 years ago. So No one is stupid enough to stay too long. They also know when it it time.

3 Years ago it got a lot closer, and yes we all left.
