Today I continue my latest musical obsession. I've listened to this guy's entire discography since 'discovering' him yesterday, and am now on my third listen.
This guy's brain must be connected to mine via some sort of non-Areffkaye-Juniorian wormhole, because everything I'm listening to somehow just clicks with me.
It feels weird, but I guess I'm confessing to being a newborn fanboy.
Here, in Glassian glory, is Liam Singer's "Disappear and Reappear".
Also, a taste:
You may have heard this song somewhere before. This morning I did a deep dive into Liam Singer's albums. They're full of quirky awesomeness. Think Sufjan and Grandaddy and Middle East with some approachable avant-garde-ish Arcade Fire. That's what I get, anyway, but there's definitely something special going on here.
Hey baby,
"Let's make some toast,
that's slang for hot bread"

"If you’ve sat in the yard at dusk right before the mosquitoes come out, ridden a bike through the suburbs in the summertime, or even just driven around your own neighborhood with the windows rolled down, you’ll hear in Neighborhoods an aleatoric sound set in amber. Who was the fellow that plucked out such moments of everyday life, pared them down, and wove it all together?"
Happy Sunday.
Your golden hair is black
Your jeans are tight,
but your hide is slack
Try it on the company,
but you don't fool me
Bix #BookWorm notes:
I love an engrossing long novel, but a good short story is a compact thing of beauty.
