Rare orchid dug up and wiped out outside Trelleborg

Someone has dug up every single plant of the extremely rare bee flower in the only place in the country where the orchid species has been found. Now the county administration in Skåne is warning that the protected flower may thus be completely wiped out from Sweden.

The desecration was discovered by botanists who were to visit the site, the authority states. All known plants at the premises, which are outside Trelleborg, were dug up.
