Greetings from Northern California. It is 44F here and dark. Yesterday I found three more eucalyptus trees had come down at the creek. 2 big ones, 1 small one. They didn't fall on any fences but they are blocking access to a portion of the field that will need to be mowed come summer. Total trees lost to the winter storms: 11 and counting.
My tea is delicious this morning. Have a wonderful day!
@Alfred what's an interesting question to ask other people
The tree service is here and it is both mesmerizing and terrifying to watch the guy in the cherry picker and the one standing in another tree easily 20 feet up. I don't care if they have those shoe picks and harnesses, it looks dangerous. There is also a LOT of physics going on about what to tie where and where to cut . . .
It's going to be a long drive for help delivering a baby.
North #Idaho Bonner General Health hospital will stop offering pregnancy care due, in part, to laws criminalizing abortion care that are causing physicians to leave the state. Shame on Brad Little, governor for allowing Idaho's Freedom Foundation to run his state.
Poverty is measured at different income levels, but it is experienced as an exhausting piling on of problems. Poverty is chronic pain, on top of tooth rot, on top of debt collector harassment, on top of the nauseating fear of eviction. It is the suffocation of your talents and your dreams. It is death come early and often. Far from a line, poverty is a tight knot of humiliations and agonies, and its persistence in American life should shame us.
