We got rain yesterday! We could probably use more but we got a good rain yesterday!

Looking at the weather map online and there are storms in the vicinity, but like all the rest of the rain this year it looks like they will just miss us or dissipate before they get here. We are seriously hurting for rain but I admit to being a bit afraid of what will happen when storms do make it through because there is potential for some really bad weather.

Anyone know anything about OFS Healthcare? These are the people that bought and then closed both hospitals in this area leaving us with no emergency care closer than 30 minutes away. They also took most of the doctors with them. Just received notice from my insurance that the quack I was seeing was no longer participating with them. Not that I planned on going back to him after getting a bill for $124 copay and two years of him not asking or answering much of any questions.

The local newspaper hit a new low by misusing the there, their and they’re words. Well, I can say living here makes me feel a lot smarter than I actually am.

So I showed up at work today and discovered I wasn’t scheduled to work. I really need to start looking at that schedule instead of thinking I’ve got a set schedule.

Why must women plead for justice when it comes to rape? Why did it take going to the AP for this police department to finally pursue criminal charges long after the rapist fled the area, possibly fled the country?

Why are women still third rate citizens in the eyes of those who are supposed to protect us?

My neighbor works for the public housing facility in the neighboring town. The hospital that just close had a senior living facility, she just told me the owners lied to these seniors and told them they had been placed at the top of the list to get into the public housing faculty where my neighbor works. They hadn’t, that cannot be done because it’s illegal. So these seniors were lied out of their homes so the assholes who sold the hospital and senior living facility could make their money.

A coworker lost her home today to fire. She and her husband had been homeless and living at the motel just outside of town and had just moved into this house. The neighbor’s house caught fire and spread to their home and the home on the other side. Sometimes it seems people just can’t catch a break, but at least they and their dog are all safe. I’m sure the Red Cross will help and another coworker is going to start a GoFundMe for them.

Well, as of yesterday we no longer have a hospital, or medical care that I’m aware of, in this area thanks to for profit medicine. Both hospitals are officially closed taking most of the doctors with them.

Yeah capitalism.
