@Render @John_Ripley @stueytheround still have a number my shirts but they all seem to have shrunk in storage. (Once, I was tall and scrawny)

It looks like Chuck and I saw Rush on the same 1990 Presto tour, just in different locations.

@Render @stueytheround little did I know that I'd only get to the Roll the Bones tour before I could no longer balance the price of tickets and the price of diapers. Budgeting is so grown up. Lol

@TheAbbotTrithemius yeah, the guy sheet of paper that you print from Ticketmaster when you don't want to e-ticket sucks

@chuck34108 Paul? I actually visited that place and watched him work through an observation window. One thing about that show that made me laugh was some of the placements of their tchotchkes. Yeah that does look cool, and hey when you have an accident you can sing falsetto too.

Congratulations to the late night daemon that creeps in to move the dial to 1 on my beard trimmer.
Also, congratulations to me for avoiding looking like that guy from American Chopper.

i'm a transducer guy...cartridge and speakers. always upgraded my amp last.

@chuck34108 I'd find a 80's direct drive Dual table from the ULM (ultra low mass) series and a Audio Technica cartridge in the $200+ range.

@northernbassist ah....save some $ upfront and upgrade later.
Back in the day, I bought my receiver first then took two months to afford speakers.

@northernbassist nice setup but then the budget kicks in. lol My original stereo took about 8 months of buying piece by piece from what I made at my first job.
In the end, I'll probably end up with turntable/preamp like House of Marley or Audio-Technica.

@northernbassist yeah, that's a big consideration. The may had cutouts for a sensor so would want the same mat and the cartridge appears to be made for that table.

@northernbassist I have a JVC L-E3 that needs a good cleanup and replacement mat

my old system was Marantz receiver and equalizer, JVC turntable, Akai tape deck, Sony CD player and JBL speakers.
Not sure what happened to all these old components other than speakers deteriorated and the tape deck stopped working.

Audiophiles, would you rehab an 80's era linear tracking turntable & have to buy an amp & speakers? Buy something new that's ready to go out of the box? Are any of the Crosley, Victrola, Audio-Technica etc systems worthwhile?
Debating what I want to spend, what my wife thinks we should spend and what I used to have.

Not planning on contradicting my wife, just wondering if I missed part of the news cycle.

Has anyone heard of a toaster spontaneously begun toasting then bursting into flames if left plugged in without actual bread product in its slot?
