Jimmy Buffett, the singer-songwriter who parlayed his passion for Gulf Coast beach life into a billion-dollar Margaritaville empire, died Friday. He was 76.
Buffett’s death was announced on his official website, which said he “passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”

He needs a friend and/or significant other. He's always been good at making friends and even getting female companions, but the relationships never last.
Ok. That thing about my son moving home? I had started getting the sense that his saying that was a not well thought out snap declaration. Turns out, that sense was on-target. It's not immediate, maybe 6 months or so (if, at all). That means he's dipping into an uncomfortable place, has been dealing with depression his entire life, clinically diagnosed 16-17 years ago.
Headed out to Portland, Oregon tomorrow AM. Maybe the whole situation about moving home has changed. Should know for sure in about 24 hours. Ugh.
