Taking my sister and two nephews to Ireland next Spring. Preliminary itinerary is something like this: Fly into Shannon, Durty Nellie's, Bunratty Castle, Kilkenny, Galway, Dublin (St. James' Gate/Guinness), the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Doolin...and all sorts of castles, cemeteries, and pubs. Any suggestions?
@celticsfanaticentomologist If you're near Waterford, it's worth touring the glass factory.
@celticsfanaticentomologist The Famine Museum is heart-breaking, but the Strokestown Gardens (adjacent) are magical. https://strokestownpark.ie/national-famine-museum/
As I've always said, there's a reason tourist-popular places are popular, and the Burren, and the Cliffs (mind the edge) are gorgeous.
If it's cemeteries you want, Dublin's Glasnevin's popular for a reason, though it IS huge. Trinity College -and St. Stephens' Green is a lovely park. While you're in the area, stop by the Little Museum- it's a place I always send people to, I like it- but it is tiny. The National Museum, of course, s well.
Dublin's a walking city, so a walking tour could be nice- there are some wonderful ones. If you're going points north, @process might have some ideas (and some lovely photos for you to look at as well). If you do go north, the Glens of Antrim and the Causeway are worth visiting.
