We’re back from the vet where in addition to his senior exam, Mr. Tan Man got a healing laser treatment for his lower back. This worked great when he had stiffness in his neck and shoulders a few years ago, and should help alleviate some of hip the pain he exacerbates by his joyful jumping behavior.

Mr. Tan Man enjoying his , blissfully unaware of his upcoming senior exam at the veterinarian’s office later this morning. The vet practice is staffed almost entirely by women, and he LOVES ladies, so it’s all good. Since he’s 12 (84 in human years) and since I’m a scientist, I always spring for the full gamut of testing on his blood, urine, and feces.

May the object of your affections delight in your Valentine’s Day efforts.

Every day, I take Mr. Tan Man and Little Miss Attitude on their separate mile + long walks through our local neighborhood and wooded trails. They both get along fine with all other dogs, except for one aggressive husky. Today, Little Miss Attitude had had enough, and stood up to this dog and its male owner. The owner’s excuse? “He’s just defending his territory.” No, you insufferable tailhole, we’re on a community trail and it’s NOT your freaking territory.

This morning’s down by the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway with Little Miss Attitude. I am so grateful to be living amid such beauty and serenity.

Word has reached me that today is “National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast” Day. Since dogs shouldn’t be eating ice cream, I make mine some homemade Greek yogurt, peanut butter, banana, and blueberry frozen treats. Recipe will follow in a reply below.

Whose bench this is, I think I know
My must still inspect it though
On our on the trail
Where we walk daily without fail

A forest path along a pond
Of which we are quite rightly fond We know each sign, we’re never lost
[Apologies to Robert Frost]

Morning - my dog’s favorite stretch of “tickle grass” has all been cut back, but he’s making the best of it.

Good morning to the and the dogs of who have their paws full caring for their humans in the midst of war, cold, hunger, and terror.

This morning’s was a multi-media sensory adventure featuring my dog’s favorite “tickle grass.”

When you’d rather warm your butt by the fire than head out into the cold.

This morning’s featured the endless fascination of pine needles on the forest floor.

Happy New Year to the and their humans who have embraced the secrets of life, codified here on my coffee mug.
