ok so i joined a gym in July, to get stronger.

because i had been getting flabby and lazy and then read a terrifying article about how aging accelerates around age 60 (my current condition).

turns out i found the right place, i LOVE it, and while i haven't lost much weight, i am pretty sure by my clothes that i am redistributing some of it.

but i am old, so 3 days a week seems prudent. 4 was too much (SO sore).

except now on the "off" days i miss it and feel grumpy.

some conundrum. 😕

@chromogirl Good for you! I started on the same journey this past spring at age 71. I’ve found that the endorphins released by a good workout are more effective for pain relief than any over the counter medication. Now that I’m awaiting knee replacement surgery in February, I asked my surgeon what I could do ahead of time. He suggested riding a recumbent bicycle. My fitness center has a bunch of them and it’s been a great complement to my strength training. Beach body remains… curvaceous.

aging like fine wine, this is the goal.

or at least pretty good wine!

@chromogirl My primary care physician says that the secret to healthy aging is maintaining muscle mass. We’ll see!

@cassandra17lina

it IS super important, i saw in my parents and in-laws the damage of losing muscle mass and balance.

it makes everything SO hard to do, so hard to go anywhere too.

@chromogirl Same with my folks and many of my aging neighbors. Having to live up to my dogs’ expectations is also a motivator for me.

😍 😍
i sure wouldn't want to disappoint those cuties!
