1/Brief #Politics thread. I wish I’d brought my noise cancelling headphones to the gym this morning. Our local MAGA folks were practically high-fiving each other and mocking Biden’s #PresidentialDebate performance. I usually hear NOTHING political at the gym. Today was nothing but joy, with several of them noting that if MSNBC saw Biden’s performance as a bad, that was awesome in terms of owning the libs. There were one or two remarks to the effect that “Trump didn’t do himself any favors.”
2/ Mostly, there were gleeful comparisons to Nixon’s debate fail, and predictions that Trump’s re-election was now clear sailing. Biden - in their minds - was finished and the Dems were toast. They weren’t worried at all about the possibility Biden being replaced on the ticket with someone younger, stronger, fiercer, or more popular who could mobilize the Dems and wipe the floor with their beloved Mango Messiah. I love going to the gym, but today was hard to endure. /End.
