My mother-in-law reports that several of her neighbors in Florida are selling their homes cheap to get the hell out of the DeSantis
political and economic mess. Homeowners insurance is priced out of reach, insurers are demanding that folks replace their roofs (even if they’re not damaged) if they want a policy. Looks like little Mickey Mouse-o-lini has launched a mass exodus. #politics
Insurers in Texass are doing the same. I, and a bunch of my neighbors, got canceled this year. I had to jump through hoops to basically make my house new again so they'd reinstate my coverage. Other neighbors are finding more limited plans or are *paying up to twice as much* as just a year ago.
Add Louisiana to the mix. Not just home owners insurance, I've lost track of the number of storm surcharges tacked on to our power and water bills.

I live in Fl, have for decades. Yes, all that is true BUT for every homeowner leaving there are plenty more taking their place.
