This is Shadow, my first shelter dog, adopted in August 1987. He was held for 3 weeks at the “pound” unclaimed before going to a no-kill shelter. Evidently he bolted on July 4th, probably due to fireworks. July 5th is always the busiest day at shelters as escaped dogs are brought in. With Memorial Day weekend at hand, please keep your dog safe. If they’re microchipped, make sure the database info is current. Even a rabies tag can help reunite them if they’re wearing a collar. #DogsOfCoSo
Thunder & lightning in the Caribbean is the loudest I’ve ever heard. My Italian Greyhound, Torey bolted out the door into the bush.
After 6 weeks of searching, he was found 7 miles away with a Pitt bull as his bodyguard.

Pit bulls need a better publicist.
I went back to find the Pitt as I wanted to rescue him too but he was gone back into the bush.
Vet said he kept Torey alive from marauding packs of dogs.
