This may be my new favorite mug. I’m a frequent blood donor and because my Type O positive blood is negative for human cytomegalovirus, it’s very well suited for newborns in need of blood transfusions. Ironic, since I was never able to have kids of my own, but I’m grateful to be able to help other families.
@cmtinkerton Thanks for your past donations. That’s more than most people do. I had lunch with a friend who has never given blood and was not aware of the need or the process. She’s now considering donating.
@cassandra17lina Why thank you! I always felt it was the least I could do to help others - it really was no big deal. Not that I liked getting poked! 🙂
I have asked if I could try again, but the consensus is no.
Congratulations @cassandra17lina
Your generosity has saved many lives!
I used to give a lot of blood because I’m AB+ (about 5% of the population is) and then I was sidelined for my own medical reasons
I was sure proud to do it when I could …
@cassandra17lina
Love the way you give back. I understand the need for critical blood supplies and want to thank you for giving the gift of life. 🅾️🩸
@CinnamonGirlE Thanks! I’m a third-generation donor in my family and my niece has picked up the baton as the fourth generation.
@cassandra17lina
My favorite husband is O neg too. He is a grumpy ole guy but has been donating for decades to help others. We donated 3 days before the Pulse shooting - and were told our blood would have been processed in time to be used that night. Made me cry when I heard that.
We usually donate as a date night. We go together and come home to stream a movie and eat cookies. We are not an exciting couple.
@Megalicious Beautiful!
@cassandra17lina not exciting but great people!!!
@cassandra17lina Kudos to you for donating! ❤️
I wish I still could (A-) I used to donate regularly, but then had some medical issues and lost my good vein!
