The offer started with a 10k pay cut from my current. Then a raise of 5k in 6 months. Guaranteed. I've heard from my interviewer that there were people who went from 40k to over 100k in around 2 years.

Yeah, I could in theory do this job a bit and apply elsewhere, but the job I currently have I don't feel is really preparing me of a lot of other jobs. I've put in offers for other jobs and always was too junior

So I think this might be worth it. Just 10k initially is a big financial hit. But the potential is that in a little over a year I could be making double what I make now. And have learned enough to make me more valuable to a lot of companies.

Just got a job offer. It would require taking a significant pay cut in the short term to potentially making a lot more in a year or two. It would also give me a lot more knowledge and better experience for future career moves.

Just worried the initial pain might be too much...

Diving into Linux for reals. Just formatted my personal laptop. Setting it up so far has been pretty ok. Went with Ubuntu just for ease right now.
Gonna give it a go for my Dev work flow.

Today, the CTO of one of the fastest growing tech companies in the US told me I would be getting an offer once he figures out what exactly he could offer me.

Depending on the offer, I could be making a huge leap forward in my career very shortly. Excited and slightly nervous at the same time.

Six years ago today, I went on a date with a beautiful woman who I had known and who I thought was way out of my league.

Today, that woman is my wife and I couldn't be happier. I love my wife.

Watching John Wick Chapter 2 for the second time, and I have to say, the world building is so interesting. The style and everything is cool, but I want to know more of the mechanics of the world. How it works. How it is set up. The history. All of it.

I basically want a full John Wick tabletop RPG source book. I want to know all the things. Play in that world.

So this weekend, my wife won one of the like 15 "Best Actor" awards for her Haunt.

Its one of the bigger haunts, and they encourage people to vote for their favorites every night. She was one of the 15 who received the most votes all season long.

It was her first year working a haunt. So happy for her.

I used to boycott them as well, but we've lightened that up a bit. It's mainly a joke.

But honestly, the only time I kind if think "Damn, I want some Chick-fil-A!" is Sunday

My biggest complaint with them the last couple years is they have still been anti LGBT rights and some things like that. In the last year, I've eaten there a couple times, but we still joke a bit. Personally, I prefer other chicken when I'm in the mood.

For transparency, I don't really consider myself religious any more, but was part of a Christian Church for a long time, and even opposed some of their views even then.

My wife and I sometimes refer to Chick Fil-A as hate food or tasty hypocrisy. We almost never eat there. She was heading out to work for the haunt, and talking with her ride about picking up food:

Wife: Too bad it's so far away or we could have some Chick-fil-A.
Me: You just want the hatred to consume her soul.
Wife: I also like waffle fries!

The little one threw such a fit tonight, he's currently in his room writing sentences. So many sentences, he might be in there for a week.

His grandmother is mad at me for saying he couldn't go see her next weekend if he doesn't finish before hand.

And now my wife is pissed at her for how she reacted.

Ugh

Spent more time programming "for fun" this week than I have in a while. Working on a Discord bot, and a custom overlay for my wife's twitch. Neither project is fully complete, but loving the progress.

Got a meeting with a recruiter next week. Based on past experience, can't help but worry it will be a waste of time.
Not really actively looking for a job, but if the right thing pops up, I'm going to jump on it.
