A lot of people who are in unstable, abusive, and/or periodically violent living situations keep cell phones hidden for emergencies.
If you know anyone in such a situation, make sure they know about FEMA's testing of its Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system next Wednesday (10/4). This test will bypass the phone's silencing features. To keep the phone quiet during this alert, it has to be completely powered down.

Having PTSD related to communication sucks at the best of times. I agonize over almost everything I say or write, turning it over in my mind to try to predict whether NTs will understand what Iโm trying to say. If itโs something Iโm going to say out loud, I mentally rehearse vocal inflection to make it acceptable to NT ears. Afterward, I obsess over it, worried that, despite my best efforts, it was misunderstood.

"Don't take anything personally."
I had a great example of the importance of this this week. Raised in a tough home, I'm *definitely* a people-pleaser quick to think that people are angry at me. But this week, *just* as I was going to reach out to someone I thought was angry at me, they posted about being livid with themselves.
Depression & self-hate don't just hijack the rest of your beautiful brains.
They're also damned egotists.
Don't let the wrong things live rent free inside your heads.
