@DyDave It has been many years now since he was disgraced. My whole city fell for it though because he is from here and lived here. We had huge city sponsored celebrations for him several times. I worked on the sound crew for most of them. Thousands if not millions were spent praising him. I even worked a celebrity party at one of his houses. He was a hero around here. Now he is a massive disappointment and the rest of us feel stupid and lied to.

He WAS a hero, and a lot of what he did was awesome and work of respect.
But that’s the betrayal: he cheated, knew he was cheating, basically taunted his cheating, forced others to be involved in the cheating, and yet, to this day, tries to present some weird justification.
He cheated you and me, and has defamed every subsequent cyclist by his denial of his cheating.
I feel like a sucker but none of us should. He’s the cheat.
