Here’s a higher res version of my cipher! It has been seen 125k times on the chatGPT subreddit and no one’s solved it yet. A small artist fighting back against AI.

@bfgreen I haven’t heard of that! It says it closed, can you tell me more about?

@BipolarArtist I ran it for eight+ years, until three people were able to get through all three phases. The original is here if you want to play > briangreen.net/bbb

@bfgreen I’ll take a look. Not sure how I would fair at solving a cipher, but I can tie up logical knots and make simple concepts more complex. I am not classically trained as a cryptographer, though. I am just an artist who knows some basic programming, and you may make quick work of this.

@BipolarArtist I created a morale patch that people could earn if they solved it. Then the patch went a little viral, became highly desirable, and ended up taking on a life of its own - even showing up in graphic novel references. Was a lot of fun...

@bfgreen whoa, cool! I am grateful that we crossed paths. Congrats on your success, it always feels nice when people connect with our work.

I have been trying to find the right community for this project. I put so much effort into it and I think it’s really cool, but it is kind of unique and a little hard to fully explain to people.

@BipolarArtist can I help? What is the goal of your project? To amplify your work, validate it, or to monetize it? No judgement, just trying to understand if my network can help you with yours? Mine might be a little more cloak and dagger, but still nerdy enough to be interested

@bfgreen so I created this cipher and built the project into two books that are for sale. This block of code I am sharing is a taste of the encryption. I guess in a perfect world, deciphering this takes long enough and gets enough people interested in the project to buy the books so they can have all of the clues. If you make really quick work of this and it is of no significance I guess I can still hope that others may find interest in trying to solve it themselves.

@BipolarArtist got it. So it's a teaser to pull people in to wanting more. Does the cipher get more intricate or complex as you go or is it more of the same? The BBB challenge I created as an example goes from simple ciphers, to physical references, to books, and global landmarks, requiring travel... making it harder.

@BipolarArtist the patch I created became a sought after marker for those that had figured out - to show others and tease them in

@bfgreen I don’t have a patch or anything for people who solve it. I guess it’s kind of the thrill of the chase. I’ll have to think about it though.

@BipolarArtist I just threw down the gauntlet to my old peeps on the bird social media site - so you should have some hard-core crypto nerds hitting it soon...

@bfgreen just as a heads up, there are critical clues in the code book as well. You’ll need both books to solve it. (If you are relying on clues to solve it that is.)

@bfgreen if they are relying on the clues, yeah. There are important clues in both books.

@bfgreen there are no clues in the plaintext of the code book. But looking at the ciphertext section is important.

@bfgreen but there is another little puzzle in the plaintext as well for fun. That is related to the story and not the cipher.
