The greatest lie I’ve heard lately is this:
Thank you for continuing to hold, your call is extremely important to us, someone will be with you momentarily.
@bettertobend Two lies for the price of one!
@CJLavoie you’re right, that’s actually 2 lies in one sentence 😆
No matter when I call they're experiencing, "higher than normal call volume," which tells me it's just normal call volume that they can't handle at that point.
@nblumengarten that’s another big lie - It can’t ALWAYS be higher than normal.
@nblumengarten another lie - “please listen closely as our menu items have changed” …. No. No they haven’t.
@bettertobend @nblumengarten: That's just that they don't want everyone to keep hitting 0 for the Operator. LOL
"Did you know customers can access our website/app for a variety of helpful matters?"
Yeah, and if it wasn't absolute trash, I'd have gone there and not wasted my time.
@bettertobend Some places offer to call you back instead of keeping you on hold. My credit union does that. If I'm on hold for more than a few minutes it gives me that option. And usually they call me back within an hour.
@CJLavoie that should be the norm to have that option but unfortunately I got a lyin utility company that never ever got around to my “extremely important” call ugh
Still waiting on hold - 43 minutes now. But my call “is extremely important” to them so I continue to ride it out.
