TIL that a US gov't official had claimed the word "woman" comes from "womb" + "man". Not true. It comes from Old English "wif" (female) + "man" (person), later changed to "wimman". The plural of O.E. "man" is "men". The more you know.

One of my hobbies / side jobs is to write Persian using the nastaliq style of calligraphy. This is my latest work that I created for a client. They intend to tattoo this as a band on their leg. It's from a Rumi poem and it translates to: "Whatever may come from the universe is a guest in your heart; cherish it."
