I enjoy calligraphy because it is a type of meditation for me. I am part of a typology community that puts out a weekly glyph challenge where a person is encouraged to be creative with it and it still be recognizable. This week is the Arabic letter ج [d͡ʒim]. This is what I submitted.

English: "The nature of mind is like water, if you do not disturb it, it becomes clear."

I often get spam comments on my blog posts and they are all written like this. When I read then, I hear Max Headroom's voice in my head.

Day 15. The rainbow is 12" tall. It has two other companions now: 6" and 1" respectively. This tree is growing really fast and we really have to strategically place the tree so it causes minimal disruption to the surrounding structures.

So this is what a baby mango looks like. My daughter insisted that we plant a mango from one of the store-bought ones.

So not infosec tech mumbo jumbo-related, I just wanted to share a couple photos of what I do for a hobby. They are invented scripts for two fictional languages I created and are currently in development.

One of my hobbies / side jobs is to write Persian using the nastaliq style of calligraphy. This is my latest work that I created for a client. They intend to tattoo this as a band on their leg. It's from a Rumi poem and it translates to: "Whatever may come from the universe is a guest in your heart; cherish it."
