Electric kettle acting up, not starting, cutting off early? Don't toss it.
Try this:
Pour out the water,
Flip that rascal over,
Grab a cotton swab,
Dip swab in oxalic acid or vinegar, (I use BarKeeps Friend)
Swab around the circular metal contacts -- just the biggest ring is fine.
Swab around again with a clean dry swab
Just remember this helpful mnemonic: PFGDSS
BEHOLD friends the power of a hashtag. This 2 year old post (^^^) was just found and fav'd

Got to hear Habib Koité and my brain is still buzzing. Also, what a gracious artist. He welcomed audience members onto the stage to dance and then helped them back to their seats when they needed it. The band is touring again, 11/10 recommend GO SEE/HEAR.

I think the Internet needs a little perspective. Too many people are running around with their hair on fire, crying about the death of Twitter as if it foretold the death of Western civilization.
It’s a website. It’s a website that is failing like so many websites that failed before.
My only concern is for the social agencies foolish enough to depend on Twitter for support. I hope they quickly find a better way to conduct business.
The dust will settle and a new king of the hill crowned.
Good deal, feed people.
USAID will provide support through the UN World Food Program (WFP) to facilitate additional shipments of Ukrainian grain moving through the Black Sea Grain Initiative
Before Putin’s invasion, Ukraine was one of WFP’s top suppliers of grain and the fourth largest commercial exporter of wheat globally, USAID recalled.
Today’s ($20M) builds on the $173 million to date in existing U.S. support to WFP to purchase Ukrainian grain

THANKS for the new userguide. Great stuff!
3 questions/comments:
1) On mobile (great!), best way to navigate back to countersocial from the guide? Used the back button a lot.
2) Translation feature mentioned in there? Searched, browsed for it and missed it.
3) Clarification: Is the modifier "abusive" understood to describe each list item in "countries, TOR nodes, VPNs, and proxies." ?
VPN does work, wouldn't want to discourage anyone from using good ones.
TIA

I might try some of these pop corn recipes. Custard? Sure.
Generally love the idea of this sponge infrastructure for urban storm water control, have seen it done well. The examples in the article are a bit wild.
Didn't remove the fly ash from coal ash ponds?! Maybe it will kill the mosquitoes they don't mention controlling.
Definitely like the concept. Channelizing water is dumb long term and catastrophically fails in the face of, e.g. hurricanes.
While ago (a few covid-months I think) folks here were discussing the user of handles versus real names. Re-found this article about it, with evidence:
The Real Name Fallacy
Not only would removing anonymity fail to consistently improve online community behavior – forcing real names in online communities could also increase discrimination and worsen harassment.
I think the photo caption ought to explain the American flag patch.

Hey CoSo tech....anyone out there use VMWare on Linux? I've used VMware for 10 yes in Windows, now using it o n a System 76 laptop running PopOS. Only annoying thing is that any OS update that modifies the kernel means you need to recompile some of VMwares libraries. I know that Linux is DIY, but this is crazy. Also thinking about trying out Gnome Boxes to see if it runs Windows on Lius more efficiently.
PS Loving the longer posts here.
Not trying to be an ad but hoooo that Penzey's cinnamon is whole different thing. Had this jar a while now and it still fills the whole kitchen.

Look at your social media platform. Now back to CoSo.
Now back at your social media, now back to CoSo.
Sadly, that platform isn't CoSo, but if it stopped promoting Russian/Chinese/Iranian/QAnon talking points, it could be like CoSo.
What's in your hand? I have it, it's a $5 flat white from a multinational corporation that suppresses wages.
Look again, the coffee drink is now a CoSo pro subscription.
