Happy thing to share:

Did you know you can cook collard greens in an instant pot, and they taste amazing?

Collards taste better when they're tender; this is not a vegetable you want to lightly steam. No.

In your IP: Sautee an onion in some olive oil, dump in a can of tomatoes and about 4 cups of veggie broth. Smush in a bag of collards. Pressure cook for 8 minutes, let steam release naturally. Stir in ~1 TBS of brown sugar and about 2 tsp of vinegar. Hot sauce optional.

Yum.

P.S. you will have to smush your collards, but they shrink.

FWIW might help to make a cigar: stack the leaves, roll them, slice lengthwise once and then crosswise every inch or so. Bite size pieces.

I'm a lazy person, so I just buy a pre-shredded bag, and shove the whole darn thing in my instant pot.

Fits perfectly. Sort of. 😁

For a minute, I thought you meant a real smokeable cigar, and I was like.... but whyyyyyy? 😂

Never tried to smoke collards but it is the same basic technique as prepping tobacco* leaves to make a cigar.

Where do shredded bags of collards come from?!

*Don't eat tobacco! Stuff is toxic.

@b4cks4w
My shredded bag of collards came from wal-mart. 😬

I know.

But it was very good, and guess who did not have to wash or shred them? Me!
