What fascinates me about this situation is that Tesla doesn't have any press relations staff responding to these calamities. The cars more than meet the kind of 'unsafe at any speed' qualifications that ended Corvair.
And Elon "Retweet Nazi memes" Musk doesn't have Steve Jobs' or Ronald Reagan's charisma force field.
So...is Tesla dead company walk/drive/STOPping?

@b4cks4w They probably have nothing new to say except they're working on it. They changed part of how their system works a while back, and it's been a mess ever since.

Tesla doesn't have PR staff at all. Musk is it, and the SEC had to rein him in because his public comments are (still) egregious.

Thread update to note that the Market is actually still somewhat rational*.
Tesla fell seven points to the 23rd spot among the 32 carmakers in the Consumer Reports’ rankings of the best automakers.
* Irrational Exuberance is expected at the start of the Hype Cycle. On reflection it makes sense to me it lasted so long with automobiles since the followers' (e.g. Ford) R&D period is lengthy. I expect to see Tesla fall further down in perception and sales now. Stock price will do whatever.
