@see_the_sus Wasn't sure where the splint needed to be for you or where it would pinch the owie. Glad you found a solution. Living so far from any real stores, I have improvised splints for various body spots, and even for a puppy with a sprain. You'd be amazed what I can do with various scraps of thin mouldings, wide mouth mason jar lids and some scraps of polar fleece for padding! 😅

@BlastBunny I live here, I know who. We are battling the magas and a lot of traditional GOP voters are switching to our side. Sadly, election deniers are working very hard to take over the election process in many counties. They know cheating is the only way they stay in power.

@BlastBunny Tucson spill on interstate 10 thru town. Rail line abandoned to save money. Highway is a constant traffic accident and jam.

@BlastBunny Yep. The rail service in that corridor has been shut down for years now. The interstate is being torn to shreds by the excessive truck traffic. Miles and miles of 2 lanes each way, with long stretches thru the desert without off ramps+ EXTREME traffic jams where emergency vehicles cannot get to an accident and people cannot get out of being stuck for hours.

This spill happened in a populated area, so lots of 'shelter in place'. But the railroad wanted to save money, abandoned line.

@BlastBunny Chem spill on I-10 in Tucson yesterday. Semi truck rolled over on a stretch of highway that is too narrow (2 lanes each way) for the amount of heavy traffic and cargo trucks. We need a return to the rail service that ran parallel to I-10 east out of Tucson. Too many vehicles for the road to handle.

If the joint closest to the finger nail, I may have an improvised protector recommendation, IF you have a cake decorating tool with funnel shaped nozzle for the bag. Weird, but necessity is often the mother of invention, a mean mother, sure, but sometimes....

@see_the_sus Used to live in a very small rural town, far from basic services. It's amazing what sorts of improvised first aid things one can come up with, But it is VERY hard to splint a finger using the other hand. There are stretchy self adhering tapes now that might help. If you can get to a pharmacy, they might be able to help. Take care.

I spent 6 weeks with my dominate hand above my heart, usually on top of my head, after a tumor wrapped around a nerve was removed. BUT the healing was good enough that the muscle grafts the surgeon predicted would be required were unnecessary. IOW: Follow orders!
