One great advantage to CoSo is the lack of ads. This is especially clear with the number of ads on Twitter going way up (~3X what it was a year ago). Additionally, the ads are more poorly labeled than ever before. What I can't figure out is how even with all this the site isn't profitable. But sure: Elon Musk is a business genius.

@FranklyCurious They are not only NOT labeling the ads properly but deliberately obscuring them so that you don't realize that you are reading an ad until you have gotten halfway through it.

At times I found myself blocking every 3rd account on my TL. And there was no shortage of other "promoted content" to fill the void.

So glad I left.

@aspecurian Yep. Most of the ads only have a grey "AD" listed. I spent a lot of time on the site blocking people but there was no way to block enough of them. I still go on to check out a couple of people and to DM a handful of friends. Otherwise, it's an awful experience.

@aspecurian They've recently moved it to the top. But in such a way as to hide it. And there is no other indication. Ads were once clearly marked!
