Watching "The Marvels" got Kate Bishop stuck in my head so this was me working that out of there.

Trying a leaner, more hippy build.

@krislohmanart and I are the pop-up artists today (11/14) at the Comic Jam Hawaii exhibit at the @downtownartcenter . We'll be here until 5pm and then we'll roll to the neighboring room for an in person drink and draw! From 5:30-7:30.

The Comic Jam Hawaii Drink & Draw will be a little different this week. We'll have blended episode with in-person artists as well a few joining us remotely... oh, and since we're in a public venue we'll be doing are best to keep it PG.

Join us in person Tuesday at the Downtown Art Center in Honolulu or online on FB, YT, or Twitch. 5:30-7:30 pm HST.

If you're coming in person there will be an open donation bar where you can get drinks.

Metropolis Revisited

I spent the night and a good portion of Saturday in bed, heavily covered to sweat out a bug. When I came up for air I drew this.

I was practicing sci-fi elements again with a feminine aesthetic. Then I thought, hey, make her gold like Futura from Metropolis! And here we are.

9x12 Ink, marker, and pencils on Niltech warm tone paper. Available for purchase. I think I'm going to digitally modify a little and upload to the various print on demand sites.

scifiart

Trying to enjoy a day off watching Blue Eyed Samurai and drawing this strange piece. It's more playing around with sci-fi elements to try to get comfortable doing it.

I call it Slim Tech.

I've always liked the armor designs in World of Warcraft. This is an attempt to draw something along those lines. If you're unfamiliar, a Drow is a basically a dark elf. They typically have white hair, but wanted her to have darker hair so I cheated on that. There are dyes in D&D after all. 😃

Stardust

"Though the billions of people on Earth may come from different areas, we share a common heritage: we are all made of stardust! From the carbon in our DNA to the calcium in our bones, nearly all of the elements in our bodies were forged in the fiery hearts and death throes of stars."

Chilled Royal

Started this at Jam yesterday, woke up and finished it this morning. Based on the title "Frost Giant's Daughter."

Don't ask her to "let it go." :D

Did this at a Comic Jam. More playing around with this heavily textured handmade toned paper.

How does "She has Risen" sound for this?

14 of the 21 artists whose work is on display at the COMIC JAM HAWAII Talk Story | Draw Story exhibit at the Downtown Art Center. I grabbed as many as could while we had a brief lull in the opening reception.

Back row (L - R)
Devin Oishi, Shanlee Konanui Yeung, Jon J Murakami, Reid Kishimoto, Nobu Yuki, Chantell Bulac, PraiseJesus C Artis, Darin Trinidad, Dennis Imoto, Rich Rodriguez

Front row (L - R)
Napua Ahina, Conny Jolitz, Jeff Pagay, and me

The exhibition will run through Nov 17.

More putzing with a sci-fi feel and playing with colors. Trying to wire my brain to be able to do sci-fi type details.

Done while killing time at the Comic Jam Hawaii art exhibit at the Downtown Art Center.

The first image I call Digital Gorgon since the look was actually inspired from my previous Medusa/Gorgon drawing.

The second I call Synth Bladesman.

A sneak peak at the Comic Jam Hawaii, Talk Story : Draw Story art exhibit at the @downtownartcenter. Opens at 11 am, Nov 3rd, with a reception at 5:30p in conjunction with First Friday. There are also two other exhibits running at the same time so you can check us out then go check them out!

mind won't shut off so here's what I did to keep me busy for a couple hours. Playing with random patterns and mixing markers and pencils. Plus is more experimenting with the handmade tone paper I picked up.

Let's call it "Magic in the Patterns." Why? I don't know, it just sounds good to me.

Wednesday's Drink & Draw theme is Nintendo. I'm looking some underrated Nintendo characters. When we do these I often like to give some love to the characters that don't usually get it. Bonus points if they visually interesting as well (makes them more engaging to draw).

I thought I'd try out some homemade paper (link is below). I figured Nancy Downs from "The Craft" would be a good subject to test out this paper. It's also suitably Halloweeny.

Initial impression is that I like the look and feel. The only drawback is it's not great for any sort of rough erasure. But I think I'm going to like it overall.

From a witch themed drink and draw. I got a little too ambitious. Even having a head start of 30 minutes on the pencils I still had to finish the inking after the end of the 2 hour stream.

The coloring was a bit slow too due to the roses.

This is sort of an alternate universe take on the Elphaba where she wins. Think of it as The Wicked Ruler of Oz

The Comic Jam Hawaii Drink & Draw theme was witches. This my AU Elphaba, The Wicked Ruler of Oz. I got a little too ambitious so even with a half hour head start on penciling I still had to finish the inking after the end of the two hour stream. Colors will have to come later.

I like to do this every now and then. This is a snapshot of about 6 months of drawings. A lot of artists specialize and develop very strong personal styles. Me? I'm all over the damn place. Between weekly themed drawings, random events, and the occasional commission, I draw a wide range of topic. Add to that, that I like experimenting with different things and I end up being a very, very, eclectic artist.

What do you think?
