Some of the fabric of what most call the Internet is unraveling. The blue bird has self destructed, mastodon and other social media have grown. But also splintered the idea of one size fits all. This is generally a very good thing for most people. It is bad news for the few that had become dependent on getting the word out about their creative acts. Also bad for those few that had monetized their so-called influence.

Given the demise of centralized ad driven platforms. People are trying all sorts of different approaches to communicating. Discord groups, small mastodon instances, human user supported micro blogs like counter social. And lots of other forms of social discourse on the Internet. Notice that all these increases user curation, user control, and user responsibility. Decrease ad nonsense, and algorithm driven bullshit.

To do:
Start your own blog. Yes blog, that thing that you thought was dead. That thing that gave you full control. That basic means of one person talking to many. It does not have to be fancy, or even good looking, but it does have to be readable, and carry your words, art, or music, in an authentic form. It does need an RSS feed. It does need to be freely linked to from the general web. You may put a small fee, on some of it. Then jump on one of the new user based platforms and link to it.
