It needs to be 45° at night. It’s too cool at 62° to have AC on but too warm to make the house cool enough to comfortably sleep without it.

Today’s recipe was One Pan Butter-Poached Shrimp and Spring Vegetables, a test recipe for America’s Test kitchen and Cook’s Country.
8/10, would make again but the recipe makes enough for 4 and there’s only 2 of us. We’ll see what it’s like as leftovers.

Turned out really good. I’d make that again and bump up the salt just a tiiiiny but.

Testing out an America’s Test Kitchen recipe tonight to give feedback. Pairing it with some saffron risotto and crusty bread.

Yesterday brother1 let it slip to us when we picked him up that his wife just accepted a job offer the night before. She needed a change very similar to what I had (was salaried working 50+ hrs/wk switching to hourly 40/wk & can WFH). Sure it’s a pay cut but it’s worth it.

The character Jocelyn on Schitt’s Creek reminds me of one of my coworkers. Super sweet, bubbly, welcoming, and has a stern side to her.

Finally scheduled a haircut. It’s been 10 months since my last haircut.

We frequently get Starlings visiting our balcony. I love listening to their variety of sounds.

The last time I was at the restaurant in April or May they were already out of the duck confit so I had that tonight. So good. Everything was really good actually. Glad to be home.

Dad has agreed he shouldn’t drive & wants to sell his truck since he can’t get into it anyway. Talked about that they need to make a plan.
We’re going to talk to an estate lawyer like we did for the LLC and get things squared away.

Today is the day we go to mom & dad’s house to talk to them about transitioning to assisted living. We have to do it as a group because dad tends to tell people different stories and repeating only what he wanted to hear.
Then we’re all going out to dinner together :) usually spouse has to work but he was able to leave work early :)

Yay Costco had samosas!
And $5 off pork loins. Paid $1.42/lb for an 8lb pork loin that I can cut down to several portions.

Wow spouse went on a cleaning/organizing kick today and now I have new shelves in the closet! I think it’s time to weed out the things I don’t ever wear or that don’t fit.

Oh good. Coworker today confirmed that sometimes you will have an hour or two without a task and you can go mess around with the schemes to see what kind of malarkey you can find. I personally have enjoyed reading through past audits.

Help, I can’t concentrate worth a damn.
